WIZARDING SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD: USA

The Young Witches and Wizards’ Preparatory Academy of Magic is not one but two single-sex schools hidden deep within the misty green swamps of Louisiana. The schools are widely known amongst the American wizarding community for it’s infamous reputation of being the rowdiest academy for young wizards and witches resulting from a fierce inter-school rivalry cultivated through centuries of competition and trickery-wars. Students are frequenters of the headmistress and headmaster’s offices for hexing unsuspecting muggle wanderers, and hosting inter-school midnight dueling matches in the marshes. Legend has it that there is a gargantuan alligator, the unfortunate victim of various experimental (and ultimately irreversible) engorgio charms, lurking in the general vicinity of the schools, although no one has laid eyes on the beast in centuries.

The Mystical World Of Mushrooms Captured In Photos

Most people consider mushrooms to be the small, ugly cousins of the plant kingdom, but theirs is  surprisingly beautiful and wonderful world waiting to be explored. These beautiful mushrooms, captured by enthusiastic nature photographers, are a far cry from the ones you find in the woods or your local grocery store.

Most mushrooms, as we know them, are actually just the reproductive structure of the fungus they belong to – their fungal networks expand far further underground, and some fungi don’t even sprout the sort of mushrooms that we’re used to seeing. In fact, depending on your definition of “organism,” the largest living organism in the world is a fungus – there’s a honey mushroom colony in Oregon that occupies about 2,000 acres of land! I can’t even hear what this dude’s saying but look at how ineffectually angry this bird is.

I’ve had days where I’ve wanted ti shriek like this at people too.
As a side note, I love that barn owls are used to often in art, and considered the most beautiful species, yet they make a noise like Satan’s chalkboard.
Majestic.

So much for owls saying hoot :U

"Are we ready, little one?"

*SCREECH OF MURDEROUS RAGE*

I’ve got nothing but love for folks who call angry, screeching predators ‘little one’.

"He’s so pretty!  And he says, ‘let me go, or I’m going to bite your face off!’"

Insolent human! Let me go, for I am the great and powerful Goblin King!

Unrolling these circles gives fills a triangle with base 2 π r and height r (where r is the radius of the filled disk). Such a triangle has area π r2. This does not serve as a complete proof for why this is the area of a circle, but can give you some intuition for why it should be. [code]
